Healing Trauma With the Jade Egg Practice
Our bodies store our traumatic experiences ( big T and little t ) until we process them, integrate them and release them.
In the words of trauma expert Bessel van der Kolk, MD: "The Body Keeps the Score."
When we have stored trauma in our bodies it can show up in many different ways.
Here are just a few:
emotional and physical blocks/numbness
pelvic pain/painful sex
pelvic floor issues
blocks to intimacy and connection
confusion about our desires
lack of body confidence
feeling cut off from our creativity, intuition and inspiration
limits to feeling sexual and sensual pleasure
While talk therapy can be an important component in healing trauma, working somatically, (or with the body) is an essential part of the healing journey.
One of my favorite practices to gently release trauma from the female body is The Jade Egg Practice.
